McAfee provided a quick glimpse at his commercial during Tuesday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show." The 15-second teaser showed him as the principal of Central High School in 1985. His balding character used the intercom to announce that flag football was a varsity sport for female students.

"Magic is happening because of me," McAfee's character said while waving his hands in the air.

As the ESPN personality explained, this commercial was created by the NFL. He said that the league is pushing this initiative to open the game of football up to as many people as possible. McAfee also hinted at cameo appearances from other big names.

The commercial required McAfee to don the fat suit and the makeup for two hours. He spent considerable time filming scenes under the direction of Peter Berg, the director known for "Friday Night Lights," "Hancock," "Lone Survivor," and "Spenser Confidential" among many other projects.

"It's f****** absurd," McAfee said about the commercial, which will be more than two minutes long. "...The way that they envisioned the principal — which I was of that high school — they showed me a picture of it, and I was like, 'This guy really looks like an a******.'

"Peter was like, 'That's what we're looking for."

McAfee is the latest high-profile figure to take part in the time-honored tradition of filming a Super Bowl commercial. Football may be the focus during the Big Game, but the bigger draw for many people is the broad assortment of advertisements for beer, chips, cars, cell phone providers, and films.

Some commercials border on the ridiculous, such as Bud Light's new spot starring Shane Gillis and Post Malone. Others are more serious in nature. According to McAfee, his team-up with the NFL and other "superstars" will be far more lighthearted.
