Quarterback Patrick Mahomes exited Sunday's win after suffering an ankle injury in the fourth quarter. He threw a pass on fourth down but fell awkwardly to the turf after two different defenders hit him. Dalvin Tomlinson wrapped Mahomes up around the knees from behind while Michael Hall Jr. hit him in the chest.
Mahomes bent backward toward Tomlinson as both Hall and Ogbo Okoronkwo landed on top of him.

The Chiefs gave Mahomes a questionable designation after the trainers taped his ankle, but he did not return. There was no need as Steve Spagnuolo's defense forced six turnovers in a 21-7 win.
Backup quarterback Carson Wentz entered the game after Mahomes suffered the injury, and he led the way on the final two drives of the game. He completed both of his pass attempts for 20 yards.
Mahomes delivered a modest performance before exiting the game due to an ankle injury. He completed 19 of his 38 attempted passes for 159 yards. He threw one touchdown to JuJu Smith-Schuster and another to Noah Gray. Mahomes completed passes to eight different receiving options.
Now 13-1, the Chiefs have the best record in the NFL. They have already clinched a spot in the playoffs, and they have an opportunity to lock up the No. 1 seed by staying ahead of the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers. Achieving this would secure the lone Bye week of the playoffs.
The path to the No. 1 seed does not get any easier for the Kansas City Chiefs, especially if the ankle injury persists. Next up are the AFC South-leading Houston Texans on Dec. 21. After that is a matchup with the AFC North-leading Pittsburgh Steelers.
The final game of the season will be against the AFC West rival Denver Broncos on Jan. 5.
