"Hard to find the words of holding my fathers hand as he goes to Heaven. I know he's in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:23," wrote Randi Mahomes in an Instagram post.
It was announced ahead of the AFC Championship game vs. the Bills that Mahomes' grandpa was in hospice, as Randi gave an update: "My dad is in hospice and I'm lost for words."
Ultimately, after defeating the Bills 32-29, Martin was able to watch his grandson play in Super Bowl 59, which was his fifth appearance in a six-year span.
With the Chiefs having a chance to become the first team in NFL history to three-peat, they ultimately came up short, losing 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
That is, Mahomes still had 257 yards and three touchdowns.
Prayers up for the Mahomes family as they deal with their loss at this time.
