Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Crucial Drops From Receivers in Eagles Loss

Down 21-17 in the fourth quarter with less than two minutes to go in the game, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes delivered a deep pass to a wide-open Marquez Valdes-Scantling who dropped the ball, and now, the quarterback has made some comments regarding the play which certainly would've put the Chiefs in a position to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles.

"They triple-teamed Travis [Kelce] so I went to the guy that won downfield and Marquez won. He just didn't come away with the ball. I could probably have thrown it a little shorter, he was that open," Mahomes said.

To make matters worse, the Chiefs final play was a 4th and 25 to another wide receiver, Justin Watson, who should've had about 27 yards, but the ball went through his hands.

"They know I'm gonna keep firing it," Mahomes said. "Usually they're going to make the plays. It happens."

"I didn't make good enough passes in certain situations," he added.

"I know how hard the guys work at the end of the day," Mahomes said. "We've had spurts where we've played good football offensively. All you can do is go to work and keep getting better."

After their Monday Night Football loss to the Eagles, the team they defeated in the Super Bowl this past February, the Chiefs are now 7-3. In Week 12, they'll take on the Las Vegas Raiders.

Against the Eagles, Mahomes completed 24 of 43 passes for 177 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Wide receiver Justin Watson led the receivers with five catches for 53 yards, and a touchdown.
