Patrick Mahomes Sr. wants permission to hit the road this NFL season. Specifically, he wants to watch his son play.

The father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has asked a Texas court to modify his probation restrictions so he can travel out of state for Chiefs games, according to court documents obtained by Fox 10.
Mahomes Sr., 56, is seeking permission to travel to Kansas City, Las Vegas and Cincinnati.
The former Major League Baseball pitcher is serving five years of probation after pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated in 2024. It was his third DWI case.
Mahomes Sr. was arrested in February 2024, eight days before his son led the Chiefs past the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Police said his blood alcohol concentration was 0.23 following a traffic stop in Tyler, Texas.
Under the requested modification, Mahomes Sr. would still submit to urine testing before and after each trip. According to People, he has completed 160 hours of community service and a 16-week outpatient treatment program.
There has been another issue during his probation.
Mahomes Sr. was jailed in February after authorities alleged his ankle monitor detected alcohol consumption on Jan. 1. TMZ reported that urine tests taken Jan. 5 and Jan. 9 were negative.
Patrick Mahomes discussed his father's legal trouble in ESPN's Chiefs Kingdom last year, saying the situation affected him when he was forced to answer questions about it during Super Bowl week.
Mahomes Sr. acknowledged the embarrassment as well.
"For him to have to answer questions about me was probably the most embarrassing thing I've ever been through in my life," he said.
Now Mahomes Sr. is asking the court for a little more freedom. Whether that includes a seat at Arrowhead Stadium will be up to the judge.
