Randi re-shared one of Kirk's recent posts on X, pairing it with a brief but heartfelt message: "Rest in heaven." The original post from Sept. 6 read, "Jesus defeated death so you can live."

Her public tribute was consistent with her outspoken faith and conservative views. Randi, who previously endorsed Donald Trump in last year's election, has long been vocal about her Christianity on social media.

She was hardly alone in responding to Kirk's death. Among those in sports to speak out were Tim Tebow, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, and former NFL receiver Julian Edelman.

Kirk, 31, was struck by a single bullet just after noon Wednesday while preparing to address students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The shooting sent shockwaves through both political and athletic circles, where Kirk had built a network of connections.

Authorities announced Friday morning that a suspect had been arrested. Police identified him as Tyler Robinson, 22, of Utah. At a press conference, Gov. Spencer Cox said Robinson's own family member helped lead law enforcement to him after Robinson allegedly confessed or implied his involvement.

The investigation remains ongoing, but tributes like Randi Mahomes' reflect the wide impact of Kirk's sudden death — reaching from politics to locker rooms and everywhere in between.
