Patriots lock up one of their biggest playmakers for the foreseeable future

They just became unstoppable again.

The New England Patriots did some serious upgrading to its receiving corps with the addition  Brandin Cooks this offseason. Now it looks like one staple of the crew already there is going to be staying in Foxboro for the foreseeable future.

The 31-year old Edelman was set to become a free agent at the end of this season, but it looks like that won't be the case anymore. That coupled with his age was why some people believed the Patriors went out and got Cooks, to act as insurance for if and when Edelman left for another team. It looks like they'll keep both and get to pair them for years to come.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has some news on one detail of the deal:

There is no information on the amount he will get paid yet though.
