According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, longtime Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell is seen as the front-runner to reunite with Carroll in Las Vegas. Bevell, who served as Carroll's offensive coordinator from 2011 to 2017, played a key role in Seattle's Super Bowl XLVIII victory. Currently, Bevell is with the Miami Dolphins as their passing game coordinator.
The possibility of Bevell returning to the fold isn't exactly a surprise. Carroll has always valued continuity and trusted relationships, and bringing back a coach who knows his system well could be the perfect move as he seeks to rebuild the Raiders into a playoff contender.
Another former Seahawks offensive coordinator, Matt Waldron, is also reportedly a potential backup option should the Bevell reunion not come to fruition.
It's clear that Carroll is prioritizing familiarity as he attempts to recreate the success he enjoyed in Seattle. The Seahawks' run under Carroll was built on strong, cohesive coaching staffs and a shared vision, and it makes sense that he would try to replicate that blueprint in Las Vegas. That's not just good strategy for Carroll—it's a smart move for the Raiders as well.
The franchise has been mired in playoff mediocrity, with its last postseason win coming all the way back in 2002. If Carroll can bring in trusted assistants who helped craft Seattle's championship formula, it could mark the beginning of a new, more successful era for the Raiders. Getting the right offensive coordinator would be a crucial step in that process.
