Peyton Manning has officially landed his first job after retiring from the NFL

His post-playing career is off!

Peyton Manning has been out of the NFL for more than a year and, at least to this point, has not found his next avenue for permanent employment. However, the legendary quarterback now has a job of some sort, as helmet manufacturer Riddell announced Manning will be joining its staff as a strategic advisor.

For more on the role, the official statement reads as follows:

Manning's new role as strategic advisor to Riddell will encompass contributions in product development, community and charitable initiatives, internal programming, and special projects directed by Riddell executive leadership. One of football's most renowned players and advocates, Manning will partner with Riddell to amplify the brand's contributions in protective equipment innovation and highlight its grassroots initiatives like Smarter Football, which enhances the football experience for those associated with the game.

It seems hard to believe that this will be enough to encompass all of Manning's free time but it is certainly noteworthy. Manning speaks, as part of the release, about efforts "to educate the football community about new protective technology" and he seems to be focused on player safety. Beyond that, there have been whispers that Manning could jump into broadcasting or even politics but, for now, this position with Riddell will provide the future Hall of Fame signal-caller with an outlet for his creative energy.
