Washington defensive back Sidney Jones is considered a first-round prospect for this year's NFL Draft, and Jones suffered a major setback on Saturday as he reportedly went down with a significant leg injury during Washington's Pro Day.
Sidney Jones just went down. Looked like his left leg. Chris Petersen helping him off field.

Getting a bunch of texts from scouts at UW & it sounds like Sidney Jones suffered a significant lower leg injury. Feel terrible for him.

To make things even more heartbreaking, the injury reportedly occurred on the last drill for defensive backs and is believed to be a torn Achilles tendon.
Washington's Budda Baker said the injury to Sidney Jones occurred on the last defensive back drill of the day.

Just had NFL source (in attendance at Washington pro day) text:
"It's a torn Achilles" he was told for CB Sidney Jones. As feared.

Jones was part of a fantastic Huskies secondary that help lead Washington to their first College Football Playoff appearance. Jones had really emerged in his three seasons at Washington as a cornerback with "lockdown" like talent, which led to many — including all four NFL.com experts — to have Jones going in the upper half of the first round. NFL.com's Bucky Brooks even had Jones going as high as No. 10 to the Bills.
In his Washington career, Jones had 146 total tackles and nine career interceptions.
