Raheem Mostert did not sugarcoat it. Football is a man's game. And in his view, Miami forgot that.

The former Dolphins running back went on "The Herd" and unloaded on ex-head coach Mike McDaniel, saying the locker room lacked toughness under his leadership.
"When you have a coach that is so player-friendly, it doesn't really mix all that well," Mostert said. He pointed to the NFL's most successful leaders as examples. Think Mike Tomlin. Bill Belichick. Even Mike Vrabel. No nonsense. No debate. Their way or the highway.
Mostert suggested McDaniel missed the mark trying to be too laid back, too much of a player's coach.

And when asked directly if the Dolphins lacked toughness, he did not hesitate.
"Yes, absolutely."
He added, "I kinda feel bad for the players. Just because when you have a coach that is so player friendly, it doesn't really mix all that well. You know what I mean? Look at the coaching history, not just in the NFL but MLB, NBA, all these different sports franchises — they have coaches that implement toughness, resilience, and that's something that he kind of missed the mark on in being a head coach."
That is not exactly a subtle shot.
McDaniel, known for his quick wit and easygoing demeanor, went 7-10 last season and 8-9 the year before. That was enough for Miami to pull the plug. He is now the offensive coordinator under Jim Harbaugh in Los Angeles.
The Dolphins replaced him with Jeff Hafley, signaling a shift toward a harder edge.
Mostert's message was clear. In the NFL, vibes are nice.
But toughness wins.
