Following the Raiders' season-ending 34-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Pierce was asked multiple times about his future with the team, but his responses were tellingly evasive. When asked if he had any clarity regarding his status, Pierce replied with a simple "no comment."

The same response came when asked if he felt he deserved to return for another season.

While Pierce's silence may suggest a lack of definitive answers, reports have already surfaced indicating serious doubts about whether he will be back for 2025.

The Raiders' underwhelming performance in the NFL season finale against the Chargers is unlikely to have helped his cause. Pierce, who took over as head coach after a 5-4 stint as interim coach last season, led the team to a disappointing 4-13 record in 2024. The Raiders failed to meet expectations, particularly on offense, and there has been ongoing uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position.

With the team facing questions about its roster construction, including personnel moves and player development, the Raiders may be leaning toward a full reset.

Pierce's inability to significantly improve the team's performance in his first full season could lead the organization to explore other coaching options in hopes of a fresh direction.

Though Pierce initially took over as a breath of fresh air, the reality of a lackluster 2024 campaign could spell the end of his tenure with the Raiders. His future in Las Vegas remains unclear, but all signs point toward a likely change at the top as the franchise looks to turn the page.
