According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Raiders are hiring Kelly as offensive coordinator. He returns to the NFL after spending the last seven seasons in college football. His task will be fixing an offense that ranked 27th with an average of 303.2 yards per game.

Kelly most recently served as offensive coordinator for the National Championship-winning Ohio State Buckeyes, a team that averaged more than 36 points per game throughout the playoffs.

For NFL fans, Kelly is best known for his time in Philadelphia. He took over as head coach of the Eagles in 2013 and replaced Andy Reid. He led the NFC East team to 10-6 records in 2013-14 and the playoffs in 2013. This season also featured LeSean McCoy leading the league with 1,607 rushing yards.

The 2015 season was a letdown for Eagles fans and Kelly, who took over personnel decisions. The team went 6-9 in the first 15 games, which led to Kelly's firing.

The former Eagles head coach then headed to San Francisco but went 2-14 in his lone season with the 49ers. This was, at the time, his final season in the NFL.

Kelly took over as head coach of the UCLA Bruins in 2018 and remained in this role through 2023. He led the college football team to three seasons with at least eight wins and two appearances in Bowl Games. UCLA beat Boise State in the LA Bowl in what was Kelly's final game as head coach.

The veteran coach's resume also includes four seasons as head coach of the Oregon Ducks (2009-12). He led the team to at least 10 wins in every season. The Ducks won the Rose Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl under Kelly. The team also reached the BCS National Championship in 2010 but fell to top-ranked Auburn.
