The Las Vegas Raiders are making a big-time pivot with a familiar face in Norv Turner, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, hoping Turner's wealth of experience can spark a turnaround. After all, it's been a case of so far, so bad this season for the Raiders.

Following Sunday's disappointing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Las Vegas dismissed offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and reached out to the 72-year-old Turner, who's been away from the sidelines since his Carolina days. It's a reunion move for the Raiders, as Turner served as their head coach back in 2004-05, but also a family affair — Turner's son, Scott, is currently on the Raiders' staff as pass game coordinator and is expected to take over playcalling duties.
This decision is clearly a push to inject life into a stagnant offense. Turner's resume speaks for itself, as he's known as one of the sharpest offensive minds of his generation, with two Super Bowl rings as the Dallas Cowboys' OC back in the 1990s.
The #Raiders are hiring one of the NFL’s most respected offensive minds, bringing in Norv Turner as an assistant to help guide their offense, per me, @MikeGarafolo and @TomPelissero.

His reputation for offensive creativity and experience with top-level quarterbacks is what the Raiders are banking on here. They're hoping Turner can lend that same vision and steady hand to guide Scott and give the offense a boost in the second half of the season.
It's an all-in move by the Raiders, bringing in a respected football mind like Turner at this stage, and it signals they're not ready to wave the white flag just yet. Turner's got a big task ahead, but if anyone knows how to rewire an offense under pressure, it's him. Raiders fans know this is a long shot, but Turner's track record suggests he might just have enough left in the tank to help right the ship.
