If you thought Mark Davis would be upset about the Las Vegas Raiders' win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, you'd be mistaken.

The Raiders' 19-14 victory on Sunday snapped a brutal 10-game losing streak, and while the win was a much-needed boost for the franchise, it also came with a consequence: it dropped them from the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft to the No. 6 spot.
But surprisingly, owner Mark Davis wasn't sweating the change in draft position. In fact, he seemed downright pleased after the game.
According to reporters, Davis was in a good mood, celebrating with players in the locker room, and made it clear that the team's victory meant far more to him than the potential to secure the top draft spot.
"It's a win, that's what matters," Davis was quoted saying.
The Raiders are not entirely out of contention for a higher pick. With two games remaining, including a trip to New Orleans in Week 17 and a home game against the Chargers in Week 18, there's still a chance they could finish with a 3-14 record, which could help them climb back up the draft order.
However, a loss of draft position means tougher competition for the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class.
#Raiders owner Mark Davis was in the locker room clapping and talking to Daniel Carlson and AJ Cole when the locker room opened to the media. Some other players were dancing. Davis was in a good mood. Doesn't seem to care about the draft order ramifications of the win over JAX.

Still, Davis isn't letting draft positioning define his team's mentality. He has long emphasized the importance of building a winning culture, and Sunday's win, no matter the ramifications, was a step in that direction.
It seems clear that for Davis, the victory over the Jaguars was the bigger win, both in terms of morale and for the future of the Raiders' locker room.
