Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse found time to put on a little show Monday night and his team badly needed it.

Verse broke clean through the Atlanta Falcons line and got a hand on Zane Gonzalez's 37-yard field goal try. The ball popped straight up, Verse scooped it and headed the other way.
And then he enjoyed the moment.
Verse slowed his roll just enough to flash a peace sign toward the Falcons sideline at Mercedes-Benz Stadium before finishing the return for a touchdown. Subtle? Not really. Effective? Absolutely.

It was historic too. Verse became the first Rams player in nearly 40 years to return a blocked kick for a touchdown. LeRoy Irvin was the last to do it back in Week 2 of 1986, a gap of 640 games between highlights.
More importantly, it woke up the Rams.
The score trimmed Atlanta's lead to 24-17 after Los Angeles stumbled into halftime down 21-0. Quarterback Matthew Stafford and company took their lumps early, absorbed the internet jokes and then flipped the script late to make Monday Night Football interesting again.
All it took was one block, one return and one well-timed peace sign.
