The Los Angeles Rams recently acquired star wideout Davante Adams after the New York Jets released the 11-year veteran. And in view of the fact that he shares the same jersey number as his new WR duo partner, Puka Nacua, fans were wondering who would be seen in #17 next year.

On Tuesday, it was announced by the Rams that Nacua is welcoming his new teammate to LA by letting Adams have his number (per the Rams' X account).
Notably, the record-setting wideout in his third year will be wearing No. 12, the same jersey that he sported in high school and college at Washington & BYU.

Earlier this week on the Pat McAfee Show, Nacua addressed the 'jersey number issue,' after the news broke of the 6x Pro Bowler and 3x All-Pro signing with the Rams
Nacua jokingly said he would drive a hard bargain if Adams wanted his jersey number.
Then, on the St. Brown podcast, Puka even said he wouldn't give up No. 17 for $2 million.
With Davante Adams joining Puka Nacua in Los Angeles, who will wear No. 17?

With Adams just signing his new contract (two-year/$46 million), it's yet to be seen what reward (if any) convinced Puka to reconsider.
Yet, it may have not been a monetary amount that changed his heart after all, as Nacua spoke about No. 12 being meaningful to him, considering he also had family members wear this number.
"I know when I put on that number 12, it's a piece of armor as well that's representing my family that is always protecting me," Nacua said.

Ultimately, Adams owes his new wide receiver counterpart something, as he can keep wearing his No. 17, which he has played in all throughout his career as a member of the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Jets.
That being said, fans who already own the #17 Puka jerseys may have to either cross out the name on the back and put "Adams," or exchange it for a #12 altogether.
While the Rams are currently looking to trade or release franchise-great WR Cooper Kupp, it's apparent that Matthew Stafford will be trying to find #17 or #12 on every drop back this season.
Are there enough targets to go around for Puka Nacua to produce alongside Davante Adams?
Yes. Very clearly. Last year:
Nacua - 18.8 FPG on a 34.8% first-read target % (4th)
Adams - 17.2 FPG on a 34.7% first-read target % (5th)
Cooper Kupp - 31.7% first-read target % (12th) pic.twitter.com/2MFoPItkh3
