That is to say, on Tuesday night Larry Fitzgerald Sr. sent out a tweet where he announced Moss' diagnosis as liver cancer.

"Just heard that Vikings HOF Randy Moss has liver cancer. Let's show the power of prayer and pull Moss through this. I love you Randy."

And in response to this Randy Moss' son says this is a false claim, while scolding the father of the 11-time Pro Bowl receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr. on X.

"This is disgusting. You have no right to try to make private matters public for the sake of engagement. I do not believe my father talks to you , so check your f***ing sources."

Former Vikings teammate of Moss, quarterback Brett Favre, saw this and also reached out by posting a tribute statement:

"Prayers to Randy Moss and his family. Randy is and will always be one the all time greats to ever run a route. Definitely on the NFL WR Mt. Rushmore."

And Moss' son attempted to politely clear the air.

"Brett, the support is appreciated, truly. This is not true. My father will address the world when he is ready to."

With all the backlash heading Fitzgerald's way, for not only posting private matters but also for maybe spreading misinformation, even Larry Fitzgerald Jr. had to respond to his father's tweet.

"Dad I think it's best to respect his privacy on this. If he feels ready to share more about his health, he will. In the meantime, let's focus on sending him positive energy, prayers, and support rather than speculating."

All in all, no matter the diagnosis, former teammates, colleagues, and fans will be keeping Moss in their prayers as he looks to recover from his health problems.

Ultimately, Moss is highly regarded as arguably the most talented wide receiver to ever play the game of football.

Notably, the West Virginia native is fourth all-time in NFL receiving yards (15,292) and second all-time in receiving touchdowns (156).

Randy Moss walks off the field after losing the NFC Championship game in 2000.
