Lamar Jackson missed Baltimore Ravens practice on Monday but is back in the fold. Just quoth the Ravens — who posted as much on social media.
"Jackson was not spotted during Monday's extra session, with head coach John Harbaugh declining to say whether Jackson's absence was personal or injury-related," wrote Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.
Either way, we will likely have some answers before the Ravens host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. We also can surmise that Jackson and the Ravens are hoping this game goes better than the last — a 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that went down to the final second.
In that game, officials overturned Isaiah Likely's last-second touchdown grab, in which Likely's toe was (barely) on the out-of-bounds line. It seemed like the right call, but Jackson and the Ravens didn't like it, anyway.
It seemed like the right call — but the Ravens weren't fans, anyway.
"I thought it was a touchdown," Jackson told reporters immediately after the game. "I still think it's a touchdown."
Interstingly, Ravens coach John Harbaugh signaled the team would go for the 2-point conversion, and the win, after the ref signaled that the play was in fact a TD. Only it wasn't.
"The ref looked at me, I look at the ref, and when he signaled touchdown, I thought it was what it was," Likely said. "Then, obviously we were going to win the game."
Then the play was reviewed.
"The runner's toe hit out of bounds," referee Shawn Hochuli announced. "It's an incomplete pass. The game is over. Kansas City has won."
Jackson and Baltimore aim to forget about all of that quickly.
