After a regular season where they claimed the AFC North crown, the Baltimore Ravens are ready to start playoff push. That will start this Saturday night when they take on their division rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers in Baltimore. And the tension is already heating up.
Ravens Players Throw Shade at George Pickens
Earlier this season, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson revealed in an interview that he prefers to wear women's perfume over men's cologne. On Monday, Lamar's teammates got a chance to sample the quarterback's new cologne which is a unisex fragrance. However, in the process, they threw shots at their upcoming opponent.
In the background of the video, you can hear one player say that the fragrance has a "soft" scent, likening it to Steelers wide receiver George Pickens.
"It smells like George Pickens..Soft? Yeah, smells just like that," they said.
Lamar Jackson Gets Honest on Impressive Season
Ravens fans were a little concerned when the team dropped their first two games. From 1990 through the 2023 season, 279 teams have opened 0-2. Only 32 (11.5%) have made the postseason. Not great odds. But fast forward to the end of the season, and the Ravens head into the playoffs as the AFC North champs.
That is in large part due to the play of Jackson, who is having arguably the best season of his career and seems to be in line to win back-to-back MVP awards. When speaking on the success that he has had this season, Jackson says he feels like the game is "slowing down," for him.
"Those guys ... The game slows down and me just me watching film [and] seeing a lot of blitzes and seeing different schemes of how a team [is] holding blitzes and trying to disguise stuff from me," Jackson said.
"With me just studying the bad plays as well [and] just studying and memorizing everything that I'm seeing [is] helping the process of the game for me. Everything's just slowing down."
Jackson's final tally for the season is 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and just 4 interceptions.
