Well, this doesn't sound good. According to a new report, Ray Lewis III, the son of former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and current ESPN personality Ray Lewis has been accused of sexually assaulting two women. Per police records first obtained by WMBF in South Carolina, Lewis III has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after two victims told police he sexually assaulted them. Lewis III is a sophomore defensive back at Coastal Carolina.
According to their report, a Conway Police officer responded to a local hospital on Saturday, January 23,, where the two victims told police that were sexually assaulted at an apartment near Coastal Carolina's campus. The police department issued a news release that stated detectives were called to the hospital to take over the investigation.
Warrants were obtained for Lewis III, who is 20 years old after medical reports, victim statements, witness statements, and lab statements were presented to the solicitor's office.
"The arrest warrant alleges that Lewis engaged in sexual battery with an 18-year-old female with the knowledge that the victim was incapacitated and/or physically helpless from the use of drugs and/or alcohol." WMBF's report reads.
Lewis III turned himself in to police on April 29 and was charged with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree. The case is still active, according to police.
Lewis III spent two seasons at his father's alma mater, Miami, before transferring to Coastal Carolina. He played in 12 games last season and recorded 19 total tackles.
