Colin Kaepernick has lost some fans because of his national anthem protest, and it might have eroded a relationship with a fan the quarterback could really use — San Francisco general manager Trent Baalke.

According to Bleacher Report, Baalke wants to get rid of Kaepernick, but head coach Chip Kelly thinks he can revive Kaepernick's career and wants to keep him around.
Bleacher Report says Kelly wants to play Kaepernick sometime this season and thinks he could be the starter again.
It's no surprise Baalke wants Kaepernick gone. The Oregonian reports that the two haven't gotten along since last season because Kaepernick believes Baalke didn't support him during the team's struggles. Kaepernick asked to seek a trade last January, and Baalke reportedly actively tried to trade him in the spring.
But Kelly believes he can help Kaepernick be as productive as he was during the 2012 Super Bowl season.
Kaepernick played only sparingly in preseason behind Blaine Gabbert, who threw for 170 yards and one touchdown in the 49ers' season-opening win over Los Angeles.
