Report: If the Cowboys add another QB, it will likely be this guy

The options are slim.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Dallas Cowboys are going to take a "hard look" at quarterback Nick Foles as a backup option behind Tony Romo after Kellen Moore broke his ankle Tuesday night.

"It really seems they're going to have to take a hard look at the veteran quarterback market, and the name to watch is Nick Foles," NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday on NFL Network, per team sources. "There is legitimate interest. I'm told the Cowboys — that would be the name if they are going to bring in a backup.

"They did work on him when the Rams were trying to shop him. There's a lot of mutual interest there for the Cowboys and Nick Foles."

Foles started 10 games in 2013 for the Philadelphia Eagles, throwing for 27 touchdowns to just two interceptions. Over the next two seasons, with a seriously depleted unit in Philly and Tavon Austin as his best target in St. Louis, Foles tossed for 20 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

With just rookie Dak Prescott and former practice squad quarterback Jameill Showers as the lone quarterbacks behind Romo, Foles could be a key addition to the Cowboys.

Other potential targets could be Cleveland Browns' Josh McCown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Mike Glennon and if they're really desperate, Johnny Manziel or Tim Tebow are always out there.
