The latest comes from Sporting News, which details the Washington Redskins may still be interested in moving for Cousins as long as they'd be ok snagging one of the quarterbacks available. Then it adds this stunning layer:

"If they get the second overall pick, I'm confident it'll be Mitch Trubisky. If they wait until round two, I'm confident (at this point) it'll be Nathan Peterman."

Do the 49ers like Cousins enough to give up the No. 2 overall selection? That seems shockingly high for the franchise quarterback, but it may just be what is demanded. It was assumed the No. 2 pick wouldn't even be on the table.

Trubisky is seen as the 1A to Deshaun Watson's 1B in terms of draft stock. Both are considered franchise cornerstones and should be taken in the first round.

After making sporadic starts over the first three years of his career, Cousins took over for good in 2015. Since then, he's thrown for more than 9,000 yards, 54 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. He put together a 17-14-1 record over that span.
