NFL insider Ian Rapoport first reported that the Las Vegas Raiders are sending the veteran wide receiver to the New York Jets. The compensation will be a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-round pick based on performance.
The NFL team has since confirmed the trade.
Adams will now reunite with his former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, on the struggling Jets that fell to 2-4 after a 23-20 loss to the Bills on Monday night. He will try to boost a passing attack that ranks 16th in the NFL with 217.2 passing yards per game.

Adams, who joined the Raiders via trade ahead of the 2022 season, has only played in three games this season. He posted a season-high 110 yards and one touchdown in Week 2 as the Raiders beat the Ravens, but he failed to top 60 yards in the other two games.
The former Fresno State standout has since missed time with a hamstring injury while reports of a trade have increased in frequency. The Jets have long been the top suitor, especially with Rodgers under center, but other teams also expressed interest.
According to Rapoport, the Saints were "the most aggressive" of the teams trying to land Adams via trade. Other interested parties were the Bills and Steelers.
Ultimately, Adams reunited with the quarterback who helped him secure five consecutive Pro Bowl bids.
"I don't know how much I can say about it because of tampering, but I still have a close friendship with him," Rodgers told media members in London, per NFL Media.
"We spent time in the offseason together. He's a great guy and a great player. The rest of that's out of my hands."
Adams is now in his 11th season in the NFL. He spent the first eight seasons with the Packers and Rodgers while accumulating 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns.
The veteran receiver spent two full seasons and one partial season with the Raiders. He added another 2,869 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns while working with a variety of quarterbacks.
