The New Orleans Saints are the lone NFL team without a head coach for the 2025 season, but that is set to change according to a new report.

NFL insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported on Jan. 31 that the Saints plan to meet once again with Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore about their open head coach position. Under NFL rules, this can not happen until after Super Bowl 59 on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Additionally, the insiders reported that General Manager Mickey Loomis has informed the other candidates in the running that "while there has been no final decision, he plans to continue discussions" with Moore. Pelissero noted that the Eagles OC has been working on his staff.
Setting up this interview will be simple considering that Moore will already be in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is the city where the Eagles and Chiefs will face off with the Lombardi Trophy on the line.
Moore has been considered the top candidate for the Saints head coach job in recent weeks. This only became clearer after former Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy withdrew his name from the candidate pool so that he could focus on a return to the NFL in 2026.
The former NFL quarterback has quickly risen through the coaching ranks since hanging up his cleats. He joined the Cowboys coaching staff in 2018 as a quarterbacks coach and then earned a promotion to offensive coordinator in 2019.
Moore remained in this role in Dallas through the end of the 2022 season while guiding some high-powered offenses. The team ranked first in offense in both 2019 and 2021. It ranked first in points in 2021. The Cowboys went 12-5 in Moore's two final seasons with the team.
Once McCarthy took over play-calling duties, Moore headed to Los Angeles to join the Chargers as OC. He departed the team after what was a 5-12 season and headed to the Eagles.
This season and the production on offense have put Moore squarely back into the discussion as a head coach candidate. The Eagles won the NFC East with a 14-3 record and then defeated the Packers, Rams, and Commanders to reach Super Bowl 59.
This offense ranked eighth in yards this season after Saquon Barkley rushed for 2,000. The unit had some inconsistent play throughout the season but it delivered when the games mattered most.
