According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns have decided to selected Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett with the No. 1 overall selection.
Previous reports leading up to the Draft said that the Browns were also considering North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, but it appears that Garrett may have won out the competition.
Garrett is one of the most physically impressive athletes in the Draft this year, impressing at the combine with a 4.64 in the 40 yard dash, a 41-inch vertical, and 33 reps in the bench press at 6-foot-5 and 272 pounds. The knock on Garrett, though, as been that his statistics in his junior year at Texas A&M underwhelmed for a player of his caliber, but it looks like the Browns are less concerned about that and instead value Garrett's potential as a defensive playmaker.
