Griffin revealed the crash on social media, calling it "the worst car accident of our lives." He said he was driving with his wife and children in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van when another vehicle hit them.

The impact caused their van to ricochet off a highway divider several times and blew out both front tires.

"Just got in the worst car accident of our lives with my wife and kids in Fort Worth, Texas," Griffin wrote on X. "Scary crash, ricocheted off the highway divider multiple times, blown both front tires. Thankful to God that my wife and kids are safe."

Griffin posted photos showing heavy damage to the van and a Ford Mustang that appeared completely totaled. His wife, Grete, confirmed on Instagram that their family was safe and added that everyone in the other car was "alive and well."

Earlier in the day, Grete had posted a photo of Griffin in the van with the caption, "Love when Robert has games close by so we can travel with him."

Griffin joined FOX Sports this year as the No. 2 analyst for college football broadcasts. He was in Fort Worth to call Saturday's Colorado vs. TCU matchup. He previously spent three years at ESPN after an eight-year NFL career that began with the Washington franchise in 2012, when he was the No. 2 overall pick.

The family's posts suggest everyone avoided serious injury. Griffin's message ended with gratitude, not alarm. A frightening moment, but a fortunate outcome.
