Former Indianapolis Colts defensive end standout and current consultant to the team Robert Mathis has been arrested on a drunken driving charge, according to Hamilton County court records (H/T ESPN).
"We are aware of the incident involving Robert Mathis last night," the Colts said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."
Mathis was hired just last month by the team as a pass-rush consultant.
The five-time Pro Bowler spent his entire 13-year career with the Colts, after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
He was a member of the 2007 Super Bowl Champion Colts.
Mathis finished his career with 121 starts, appearing in 192 games with 54 forced fumbles, three defensive touchdowns 123.0 sacks and 397 tackles.
