Russell Wilson isn't running from the situation in New York.

After three rough weeks to open the season, the Giants made the call to bench the veteran quarterback in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart. It was the move fans had been clamoring for, especially after Wilson's poor showing in Week 3 against the Chiefs.
Still, questions immediately popped up about whether Wilson would push for a way out — maybe a trade or release to land with a team still in search of a starter.
On Wednesday, Wilson shut down that speculation.
"I'm focused on helping this team win," Wilson told reporters. "I'm focused on helping Jaxson. I'm focused on me getting ready to be the best version of me today. I want to be here. I love this organization. I love the process of it all. I love the guys in the locker room. I'm not giving up on us and this season."
The truth is, Wilson may not have many other options anyway. Teams that might've been a fit — Cincinnati with Joe Burrow out, for example — appear content with their backup plans.
And Wilson, now in his 13th NFL season, hasn't looked like his old self. He was solid against Dallas in Week 2, throwing for 450 yards and three touchdowns, but outside of that game, he completed just 59.1 percent of his passes with three interceptions.

The Giants are winless, but Wilson isn't quitting on them — or himself. His role now shifts from starter to mentor, and he says he's embracing it. Whether that lasts deep into the season, of course, remains to be seen.
