According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the longtime NFL quarterback is finalizing a deal to join CBS Sports as an analyst, a move that could signal the end of one of the league's most accomplished careers.

Wilson had reportedly received interest from the New York Jets about serving as a backup quarterback to Geno Smith, but it appears television may have won out.

The 10-time Pro Bowler is expected to join CBS' NFL coverage, stepping into a role previously held by former quarterback Matt Ryan, who recently returned to the Atlanta Falcons as the team's president of football operations.

What's not entirely clear yet is whether Wilson is officially retiring.

The 37-year-old has not publicly announced the end of his playing career, leaving open the possibility that this could simply be a break from football rather than a permanent goodbye.

Either way, Wilson leaves behind an impressive NFL résumé.

After being selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Wilson quickly developed into one of the league's most successful quarterbacks. He helped lead Seattle to a Super Bowl title, earned 10 Pro Bowl selections and became one of the NFL's most dangerous deep-ball passers.

Over the course of his career, Wilson threw for nearly 47,000 yards and 353 touchdowns while also establishing himself as a dual-threat quarterback capable of making plays with his legs.

His best years came in Seattle, where he became the franchise's all-time leader in both passing yards and touchdown passes.

If this does prove to be the end of Wilson's playing days, he'll leave the NFL as one of the defining quarterbacks of his generation.

Now, instead of breaking down defenses on Sundays, he may soon be breaking down games from the CBS studio.
