Report: Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill likely out for the season after devastating injury

The Dolphins are 8-5 on the season.

The Dolphins are still fighting for a Playoff spot at 8-5, but they may have had their hopes dashed on Sunday, as quarterback Ryan Tannehill went down with a knee injury on this play.

No flag was thrown on the play, and Tannehill was taken off the field after. The initial belief is that Tannehill has a torn ACL, which would cause him to miss the rest of the season.

Tannehill had been solid, if unspectacular this season for the Dolphins. He had thrown for 2,800 yards and 16 touchdowns on 67-percent completion heading into Sunday's game against Arizona. With Tannehill out, the Dolphins will have to rely on backup Matt Moore, who led the game-winning drive against the Cardinals after Tannehill's injury.

The Dolphins are 8-5 on the season, well in contention for a wildcard spot in the AFC.
