The former Seattle Seahawks star revealed on the "Up & Adams" show that he and his wife, Valerie, are expecting their 14th child. Yes, fourteenth. Married since 2002, the Alexanders already have a dozen children at home. Their first, daughter Heaven, was born in 2003. They've added 12 more since then, though one child tragically passed away as an infant. Now at 48, Alexander is set to become a new dad again.
The growing household already includes grandchildren. That means the latest arrival will be an uncle or aunt to older family members before even learning to crawl.
Alexander's résumé on the field was nearly as impressive as his record at home. He played for the Seahawks from 2000 to 2007, then spent a year with Washington before retiring. At his peak, he was virtually unstoppable. From 2001 through 2005, he rushed for more than 1,000 yards every season. His 2005 campaign remains legendary in Seattle, when he piled up 1,880 rushing yards and 27 rushing touchdowns. Both numbers are still franchise records. He was named NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year that season.
A product of Alabama, Alexander remains the Seahawks' all-time leading rusher with 9,429 yards. He carried Seattle to a Super Bowl appearance and is remembered as one of the most dominant running backs of his era.
Most fans are quick to point to certain former quarterbacks when talking about NFL players with massive families. But with this announcement, Alexander has a strong case as the clear leader.
He made a career out of finding the end zone. Now he just keeps finding room at the dinner table.
