Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch reportedly 'leaning towards' retirement

This would be huge news, if true. Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who only played in seven of the Seahawks' regular season games, is reportedly leaning towards retirement. Seahawks general manager John Schneider said on 710 ESPN Seattle on Friday that Lynch, who will turn just 30 years old this upcoming April, is expected to retire.

"I just know that we're going to treat him with as much respect as we possibly can here, and give him a little leeway to find his way in terms of what he wants to do. But I'm under the impression that he's leaning towards retirement." Scheider said.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed Schneider's comments to be legitimate as well.

If Lynch does retire, he'll owe the Seahawks $5 million in bonus money. That means the Seahawks will likely release him — the organization would have to give him $9 million from the Seahawks next season if they keep him around. Lynch rushed for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns during the 2014-15 season.
