Dogg, who boasts more than 23 million album sales in the United States, is viewed as one of the biggest names in music. He has also made a major positive impact on the lives of children across the country.
Dogg created the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL) 17 years ago. The NFL says more than 40 players have made it to the pros after taking part in the Snoop Youth Football League. Additionally, Dogg has used Snoop Special Stars to ensure that children with any disabilities can also participate in football.
Dogg's ties with football — and the NFL, in particular — have only strengthened in recent years. For example, he was the halftime performer of Super Bowl 56 alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
The longtime rapper also joined the NFL for the 2023 Pro Bowl Games. He was an honorary captain of the AFC team, and he worked alongside head coach Peyton Manning.
Dogg is the latest prominent name to host the NFL Honors, which began in 2012. He follows Alec Baldwin, Seth Meyers, Conan O'Brien, Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Riggle, Steve Harvey, and Kelly Clarkson. Baldwin, Key, and Harvey all hosted the NFL Honors three times.
