Some terrible human being crushed this NFL draftees dreams with this awful prank

What terrible person would do this?

Chicago Bears wide receiver Cameron Meredith thought he was living out any kid's dream when he received a call from who he thought was New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick during the NFL Draft.

That turned out to be a cruel prank, according to the Chicago Tribune:

"The person called and said they were (Bill) Belichick and it was near the last pick of the third round," Meredith said. "The guy said, 'We're taking you with the next pick.' "

Meredith sat in disbelief watching the screen as the Patriots selected Oklahoma defensive end Geneo Grissom 97th overall with the third-to-last pick of Round 3.

Meredith reportedly called his agent, who reached out around the league and figured out it was all a sham.

Meredith eventually inked a guaranteed $6,000 contract as an undrafted free agent with the Bears.

Thus far, he's recorded seven receptions for 88 yards, including four catches for 52 yards on Sunday.
