Steelers' Aaron Rodgers may not miss time despite concerning wrist injury

Aaron Rodgers reportedly suffered a fracture in his left wrist during Sunday's win over the Bengals, but the Steelers aren't ruling out the possibility that he plays this week.

Rodgers went down late in the first half of Pittsburgh's 34-12 victory after getting hit by multiple defenders, bracing himself with his left arm as he fell. He immediately grimaced, left the field, and never returned. Mason Rudolph finished the game.

Initial reports called it a "slight break" that could sideline the 41-year-old for multiple weeks. Rodgers isn't buying that timeline. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the four-time MVP has told people close to him that he does not want to miss Sunday's matchup with the Bears and is pushing to play.

"Aaron Rodgers... has told more people close to him that he does not want to miss a game," Rapoport said, via Larry Brown Sports. "If he's able to grip, if he's able to receive the ball on the snap, it's actually possible Rodgers could play this week."

Rapoport added that one source called it "50-50" for Week 12.

The Steelers sit at 6-4 after the win and remain atop the AFC North, but Baltimore has won four straight to climb to 5-5. With the division tightening, Pittsburgh knows it needs stability — and Rodgers has been better than many expected, throwing for 1,969 yards with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Rudolph is a steady option if Rodgers can't go, but the QB's push to play suggests the injury may not keep him out long. Even if Week 12 ends up being too soon, Pittsburgh doesn't sound braced for a lengthy absence.
