Teams are trying to steal Colin Kaepernick, but San Francisco isn't budging (yet)

How long will San Francisco hold strong?

Colin Kaepernick's 2015-16 season couldn't have gone much worse.

And it's because who was assumed to be the next great quarterback had an awful year that the San Francisco 49ers have reportedly been offered a third- and fourth-round pick, respectively.

San Francisco set the bar high, reportedly requesting a second-round pick in exchange for the talented Kaepernick. The Cleveland Browns reportedly settled for a third-round pick in any potential exchange for the quarterback as long as he takes a pay cut. While the Browns could settle for Kaepernick on his bloated salary, the Denver Broncos reportedly see the quarterback worth no more than a fourth-round draft selection.

Denver doesn't have a fourth-rounder to trade, but could up their offer to a third just to get the deal done.

As of now, the 49ers aren't backing down from at least a third-round pick. With Kaepernick's $12.97 million salary becoming guaranteed on April 1, San Francisco has some work to do if it wants to avoid dishing out big cash to a quarterback that might not be on the roster past training camp.

After tossing for over 3,000 yards in back-to-back seasons and having nearly a 2-to-1 touchdown to interception ratio, the agile quarterback plummeted to just over 1,600 yards and even worse, six touchdowns to five interceptions last season

Blaine Gabbert took over, Kaepernick went on injured reserve and now, despite Chip Kelly taking over as head coach, the one-time budding quarterback wants out. He may get his way sooner rather than later.
