Terrell Owens is a Hall of Fame finalist, and this former head coach is absolutely furious

Does Terrell Owens deserve to be a Hall of Fame candidate?

Over his career, Terrell Owens played at an above average level, but also drew the attention of the country with outlandish stunts such as doing exercises in his driveway or dousing himself with popcorn after a touchdown.

While his accomplishments (nearly 16,000 yards receiving and over 150 touchdowns) are certainly worthy of consideration for the Hall of Fame, at least one former head coach doesn't think he belongs in the running as a Hall of Fame finalist, per Pro Football Talk.

Here's what former St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz said, via St. Louis Post Dispatch.

"'Surprised' isn't the word," Martz said. "You can't print how I felt when T.O. leapfrogged those (Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt). That's just plain out-and-out ridiculous.

"Had they promoted themselves, which was contrary to everything we were about, they'd probably get in without an issue," Martz said. "Had they pulled a T.O., they're probably get in without an issue. That's just not who we were. If they big-timed it and did all that dumb stuff, they'd probably get in earlier. I think they'll eventually get in. I don't think that's an issue, but it's tragic that people think of them like that. If Marvin Harrison gets in, how could they not get in?"

For Bruce (15,208 yards and 91 touchdowns) and Holt (13,382 yards and 74 touchdowns), no matter what Martz says, it won't change the fact that his former receivers will have to wait an additional year before being considered for the Hall of Fame yet again.
