Hernandez, who is currently serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, has been granted a change in legal teams and access to an important piece of evidence.
He'll now be represented by the likes of Jose Baez, the same lawyer who defended Casey Anthony, who was accused of killing her daughter in 2008.
His new legal team isn't just for show either, as they've already gotten what they believe is an important pickup from the judge presiding over his case.
Hernandez's attorneys secured the rights to his cell phone, which prosecutors believe have damning evidence in the case of two murders Hernandez is tied to, from 2012.
The phone was with Hernandez's previous legal team, and was released to his new squad thanks to the ruling of judge Jeffery Locke.
Whether the device has incriminating evidence remains to be seen.
