NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 12: National Football League (NFL) Commissioner Roger Goodell leaves federal court after defending his decision to suspend New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady for four games after it was decided Brady knew about deflated footballs used in last year’s NFL season on August 12, 2015 in New York City. Texans owner says what everyone else is thinking about DeflateGate, and then some

It's easier said than done.

DeflateGate has dragged on for months thanks to not only NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's power-hungry handling of the situation, but thanks to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's unwillingness to cooperate with the situation.

At least one owner has weighed in on the subject, and he understands what really escalated the situation.

Via ESPN:

"(Texans owner Bob) McNair made his comments Tuesday in an appearance on Texans radio on Houston's Sports Radio 610.

"What escalated the whole thing is that Brady and the Patriots were going to cooperate fully, and then when it came down to it, they didn't," McNair said.

As for how his organization would have dealt with the issue, he thinks things would have gone much more smoothly:

"If it was J.J. Watt, I think he would have been cooperative, and it wouldn't be a question. ... I don't think J.J. would destroy his cell phone."

It's easy to sit back and say how you would handle a situation when you're on the outside looking in, but dealing with the scrutiny of fans, media and the league could alter that judgement.

As for the case itself, a decision is expected to be reached by the end of the week.
