Ryan Fitzpatrick may be closer to landing with a different team.

Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets are in a staredown with time before the NFL Draft winding down.

Fitzpatrick reportedly turned down a deal from the Jets worth a bit more than the three-year, $21 million contract Chase Daniel landed earlier this summer. And while the Broncos were reported to be in talks, but couldn't agree on a price, Pro Football Talk is reporting Denver still looms as a possible contender for the free agent quarterback.

While New York and Denver continue to question whether Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez, respectfully, are legit options, you have to wonder if Fitzpatrick lowers his price to land with either AFC squad. If not, he might be wise to just hold steady until a desperate team comes after his services thanks to injury and/or poor production from a would-be contender.
