The latest excuse for teams not signing Kaepernick has nothing to do with his anthem protests

Really?

Colin Kaepernick is still looking for a new NFL team to play for in 2017, but more and more teams have added other free agent quarterbacks instead of him in the last few weeks — perhaps most-notably Josh McCown signing with the New York Jets.

It's been a huge subject of discussion as to why Kaeprnick remains unsigned, but there is a new reported reason coming from Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Via Bleacher Report:

"Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reported Friday that NFL teams are "unconvinced" about Kaepernick's commitment to football and "wonder" about his vegan lifestyle."

Some reasons have made more sense than others regarding Kaepernick's situation, but this is certainly the oddest reported reason out there right now. It's especially odd considering New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady is reportedly a vegan the majority of the year.

As long as Kaepernick remains unsigned, rumors like these you would figure will continue to pop up. Nonetheless, you would think Kaepernick would like to get signed before the 2017 NFL Draft where more teams with quarterback issues will address them through the draft.
