The New York Giants are set to sign former New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith to possibly back up Eli Manning.

The Giants also recently signed Josh Johnson at quarterback. Johnson was with the team last year.
Smith played four season with the Jets, and he lost his job to Ryan Fitzpatrick. Smith threw for 28 touchdowns and 36 interceptions with the Jets.
The Cleveland Browns reportedly had interest in Smith, who tore his ACL last season. Now the Browns will be forced to decide whether they want to keep Brock Osweiler, trade for Jimmy Garoppolo or draft a QB this spring.
Smith being signed by the Giants was probably a good thing for the Browns in the long run.
