The NFL may be targeting this pop star to perform at halftime of the Super Bowl

The NFL is reportedly after a famous female pop star for this year's Super Bowl halftime show.

The NFL is targeting Lady Gaga to perform at this year's Super Bowl halftime show according to Billboard. She performed the national anthem before Super Bowl 50 last February and apparently impressed the league.

The league had previously tried to get Adele to perform, but the British singer said she wasn't interested because she doesn't dance. That's certainly not the case for Gaga and it wouldn't be her first prime-time performance either, as she took center stage at the Oscar's in 2015.

Several pop stars have performed in recent years, including Katy Perry and Beyoncé, so Lady GaGa seems a logical next choice.

An NFL spokesperson told Billboard that they've talked with several "fantastic" singers but haven't made a final decision.
