After starters Tony Romo and Teddy Bridgewater sustained season-altering injuries in the preseason, some thought Dallas and/or Minnesota might knock on the door of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith.

But according to Jets coach Todd Bowles, "it's fair to say" Smith will be the No. 2 quarterback behind Ryan Fitzpatrick, according to the NY Daily News, and won't be going anywhere.
This decision comes on the heels of Jets backup quarterback Bryce Petty sustaining a bruised shoulder in the Jets preseason finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"It's too early to tell," Bowles said in regards to whether Petty would be placed on Injured Reserve. "We're still waiting to see the recovery time."
The Cowboys and Vikings have found answers for their backup quarterback situations, picking up Mark Sanchez and Sam Bradford respectively.
