Harbaugh had been linked to multiple openings, including the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans, so his decision forces those teams to pivot quickly. There are still eight head coaching vacancies leaguewide, and the Titans appear to be picking up the pace.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Tennessee has several interviews lined up in the coming days. One of the most notable names is former Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy, who is scheduled to interview Saturday.

Former Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh are both set to interview Sunday.

McCarthy was viewed as an early front-runner for the Titans job back in December, before Harbaugh emerged as a serious option. With Harbaugh now off the board, McCarthy could again move toward the top of the list, depending on how the interview process unfolds.

The Titans have already spoken with several candidates, including former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett and recently fired Falcons coach Raheem Morris.

McCarthy brings a long résumé. He has 18 seasons of head coaching experience, a 174-112-2 regular-season record, 12 playoff appearances, and a Super Bowl title with the Green Bay Packers. After Dallas opted not to extend his contract following the 2024 season and hired Brian Schottenheimer, McCarthy was widely expected to resurface.

The Titans may give him that opportunity.
