Todd Gurley's surgically repaired knee checks out to be fine

Before Georgia's Todd Gurley went down with a torn ACL, he had a chance to be a top 10 pick. That's how good of a running back Gurley is. He's still likely to be a first-round pick, and teams thinking about taking him received some good news today.

Gurley tore his ACL on Nov. 15 and had surgery in late November. Because his re-check came back good, the hope is that he will be available to participate in training camp. NFL Films producer Greg Cosell said Gurley is the best prospect in the draft. There are plenty of teams in the middle of the draft that need a good running back. If he is selected in the late teens or early twenties, he would be a steal at that position.

There's no doubt that whichever team gets Gurley is getting a tremendous and gifted player. A running back has not been selected in the first round of the draft in two seasons. That will change this year.
