Tom Brady Claps Back at Baker Mayfield After ‘Stressed Out’ Locker Room Claims

Tom Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner is widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes ever and the greatest quarterback of all time. Six of his seven rings came with the New England Patriots dynasty he led. But he also won one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.

Tom Brady Responds to Baker Mayfield

Brady has since transitioned from the field to the booth as a play-by-play analyst with the NFL on Fox. During the broadcast, he appeared to take a shot at his former backup in Tampa Bay, Baker Mayfield.

"I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings," Brady said during the telecast. "There was a mindset of a champion that I took to work every day. This wasn't daycare. If I wanted to have fun, I was gonna go to Disneyland with my kids."

Bucs QB Describes Locker Room Culture During Star's Tenure

Brady's thoughts appeared to be about Baker's recent comments about the locker room culture during his tenure in Tampa Bay. Brady has been known to have a no-nonsense attitude as a fierce competitor. Mayfield said that he and other players were "stressed out," after Brady's arrival.

"The building was a little bit different with Tom in there. Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out," Mayfield said. "They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football for guys who weren't having as much fun."

Amid all the drama, Baker Mayfield has the Buccaneers sitting with a record of 3-1 heading into Week 5. However, they will have their work cut out for them in the NFC South.

The New Orleans Saints have also proved to be a worthy opponent with the addition of new quarterback Derek Carr. And despite a slow start, the Atlanta Falcons have the talent to make some noise as the season progresses.

The Buccaneers started the season 3-0 and have shown no signs of slowing down even after a loss in week 4. It will be interesting to see if he can silence his critics.
