"The internet never forgets" is a phrase we should all be aware of, and following Super Bowl LVIII, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback-turned-broadcaster Troy Aikman learned that lesson the hard way as fans discovered an old tweet he had directed toward Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Aikman tweeted back in 2019 for fans to get back to him when Mahomes was able to win a single Super Bowl.

Posted on Sept. 23, 2019, Aikman responded to a tweet from "The Athletic Kansas City" that said, "ICYMI: "Patrick Mahomes has thrown 36% of Troy Aikman's career touchdowns, in about 8% of the games."
From there, Aikman replied, "iCYMI: Talk to me when when he has 33% of my Super Bowl Titles."
Well, that certainly aged poorly.
At the time, Mahomes, of course, had zero Super Bowl wins. With Super Bowl LVIII, the 28-year-old Mahomes claimed his third Super Bowl win — the same number that Aikman had in his entire career.
Fans on X took it upon themself to pepper Aikman with quoted posts and in the replies.

The Chiefs captured their third Super Bowl win Sunday after coming back from a 10-3 halftime deficit to outscore the 49ers 16-9 in the second half and end regulation play in a tie. The game went to overtime, where the San Francisco 49ers got the ball first and kicked a field goal. From there, the Chiefs had the ball for more than seven minutes before scoring a touchdown to win 25-22.
